Designathon: Transforming Construction Waste for Public Use!

Nesma & Partners is excited to participate as a 'main partner' in the "Sharqiyah Gets Creative" initiative, an annual event held in November under the patronage of the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra). Our involvement through the unique 24-hour Designathon highlights our dedication to fostering innovation, supporting sustainability, and promoting collaboration within the local community.

About the Challenge:

Individual participants  or teams are invited to develop unique design concepts in 3D models or detailed sketching using construction waste materials to produce aesthetic of functional structures for public use and incorporate at least 75% recycled materials from samples and photos provided by Nesma & Partners. The remaining 25% can be any additional materials of the team's choice, encouraging creativity while emphasizing environmental responsibility.

Note: Participants are required to bring their own devices and design software. Additionally, all team members must complete the registration form.

Event Details:

Virtual introduction: November 7, from 6 - 7 p.m.

Event Date and Time: November 8-9, 2024, from 3 p.m. on November 8 to 3 p.m. on November 9 (24-Hours Competition)

Judging Time: 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Shortlisted teams may have to present to the judging committee

Winners’ Announcement: 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. on November 9, 2024
