Riyadh, January 20, 2025 - In a significant step towards advancing academic excellence, innovation, and the development of Saudi talent in engineering, Nesma & Partners signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with King Saud University (KSU). The signing ceremony took place at the College of Engineering, with Housam Ibrahim-Basha, VP & CSSO, and Dr. Majid Altamimi, Dean of the College of Engineering, representing the university.
The partnership establishes a strong framework for collaboration in research, training, and development, fostering mutual understanding and the exchange of expertise. Building on its prior establishment of a research chair in construction and materials at KSU, the agreement reinforces a shared commitment to advancing sustainable practices and driving innovations in construction technologies, pioneering materials, and nano technologies. Key areas of focus include smart materials such as embedded environmental sensors and wireless communication systems.
To nurture the next generation of engineering talent, the initiative will provide summer and cooperative training programs for a minimum of 20 students annually, sponsor senior students during their final year, and host internships to ensure fresh graduates are prepared to meet evolving industry demands.
Housam Ibrahim-Basha highlighted the partnership’s significance, stating: “This agreement with King Saud University represents a defining milestone in our efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
