Solar Energy Revolutionizes Operations at PMV Fabrication Shop

January, 2025

Nesma & Partners is proud to announce the successful commissioning of its state-of-the-art photovoltaic (PV) system at the Nesma & Partners Fabrication Workshop. This milestone reflects our commitment to sustainable energy solutions and supports Saudi Vision 2030’s renewable energy goals.

The newly operational solar PV system utilizes clean, renewable energy to power the Fabrication Shop. With 1,966 Tier-1 Trina Solar N-type monocrystalline panels distributed across three buildings, the system delivers a total capacity of 1,140,280 kWp. It also features Tier-1 Sungrow on-grid inverters with an impressive 98.5% efficiency. Following thorough testing and troubleshooting, the system is fully integrated and functioning seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted operations.

A key feature of the project is its reliability. In the unlikely event of a system failure, Free Energy safeguards ensure the Fabrication Shop remains operational without disruption, provided that at least one generator is functional. This approach maximizes the benefits of the solar installation while ensuring business continuity.

The installation will generate 727,164 kWh yearly, meeting 46% of the shop's power needs. This reduction in diesel consumption of 242,388 liters per year translates to SAR 278,746 in cost benefits and eliminates 655,788 kilograms of carbon emissions annually. The decreased operational expenses strengthen financial performance and create opportunities for future growth. Over the system’s lifespan, these collective savings will further contribute to long-term sustainability.

Beyond its financial benefits, the system stabilizes energy costs and reduces dependence on fluctuating diesel prices. With an ROI of 320.78% over 25 years, the project proves its economic viability and substantial financial return. By reducing diesel consumption, the system minimizes harmful pollutants like particulate matter, NOx, and SOx, improving air quality and health. By avoiding significant diesel consumption, it contributes to the Saudi Energy Efficiency Program (SEEP), supporting efforts to reduce fossil fuel consumption and diversify energy sources. Through this initiative, Nesma & Partners emphasizes its leadership in sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy solutions, and amplifying the impact of green energy adoption across Saudi Arabia.
