Nesma & Partners and Saur group Sign Strategic MoU to Support Saudi Arabia’s Water Transformation

Monday, 8 September 2025

Jeddah, September 8, 2025 – Nesma & Partners, the leading provider of integrated project solutions in Saudi Arabia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Saur, a global leader in sustainable water and wastewater management, to develop advanced water projects across the Kingdom, with the ambition of shaping a national champion in the water business. The signing took place at the French Residence in Jeddah, under the patronage of the Consul General of France, Mohammed Nehad, underscoring the strong and growing collaboration between Saudi Arabia and France.

This agreement highlights the strategic role of French companies in supporting Vision 2030 giga-projects, contributing expertise and innovation to vital sectors such as water, energy, and infrastructure. French firms have long been trusted partners in Saudi Arabia’s transformation journey, working alongside local entities to deliver the ambitious projects that define the Kingdom’s future.

The initiative will focus on desalination and sewage treatment plants, covering project development, engineering, procurement, construction, and long-term operations and maintenance. By combining Nesma & Partners’ execution capabilities with Saur’s advanced digital water solutions, the companies will deliver integrated services that strengthen Saudi Arabia’s water systems, optimize resource use, and advance the Kingdom’s sustainability agenda.

“Our work with Saur will enhance our joint capability to pursue and deliver world-class water projects across the Kingdom, which contribute to the advancement of Saudi Arabia’s strategic objectives by creating value for our clients and communities,” said Samer Abdul Samad, President & CEO of Nesma & Partners.

With over 90 years of expertise and a presence in more than 20 countries, Saur is a pure-play global water specialist, committed to becoming the champion of water transition by 2030. The Group combines innovation, digital solutions, and operational excellence to tackle water challenges in some of the world’s most water-stressed regions.

Saur has been present in Saudi Arabia for over 15 years, with a solid track record in operating critical water and wastewater infrastructure across urban and industrial areas.

“This partnership with Nesma & Partners marks a new chapter in Saur’s journey in the Kingdom. We are proud to join forces with a trusted Saudi partner to co-develop innovative, sustainable, and resilient water infrastructure that meets the needs of both cities and industries. This alliance reflects our strong belief in local partnerships as the cornerstone of long-term value creation and transformation. said Patrick Blethon, Executive Chairman of Saur group.

The collaboration will also target industrial water treatment through concession and operations contracts, deliver end-to-end development of treatment plants from design to long-term operations, and jointly pursue projects across Saudi Arabia’s growing urban and industrial sectors. These initiatives support the National Transformation Program’s goals of ensuring the sustainability of vital resources and building resilient infrastructure.

The signing ceremony included senior executives from both companies, including Samer Abdul Samad, President & CEO of Nesma & Partners; Patrick Blethon, Executive Chairman of Saur Group; and Faisal AlTurki, Nesma & Partners’ Board Member, in the presence of Mohammed Nehad, Consul General of France in Jeddah.

This milestone reinforces the deep economic ties between Saudi Arabia and France in sectors critical to the Kingdom’s diversification and Vision 2030. It also underscores Nesma & Partners’ role in delivering innovative, high-impact solutions that advance national priorities and shape the Kingdom’s giga-project landscape.
